Baseball

BaseballBaseball, is a sport played by two teams, which alternately occupy the positions of attack and defense. It is a very popular sport in North America, some countries in Central America, the Caribbean. Baseball, presented as a demonstration sport in several Olympic Games dispersed over time, was included in the official program of the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992 and was later removed from London 2012.

Parallel to the Major League Baseball clubs are formed minor leagues, semi-professional leagues and amateur leagues belonging to private institutions, Negro Leagues, among others.

The ball consists of an essential item for making a departure from that sport. The circumference of a baseball can range from 23 to 25 cm, while its weight should be exactly 142 grams. Its structure varies according to the manufacturer, but generally includes a ball of cork in the center surrounded by cotton yarn, wool or string. Whatever the materials used must be well compacted so that the ball reaches the regulated weight. Then get a leather case, which is usually sewn by hand. This seam is important as it is responsible for the effects that make the ball do a curve along its trajectory, after being thrown by the pitcher. Training balls can be manufactured through the addition of rubber compounds in its interior, making them softer and easier to batting.

Rules

- Each team alternately attacking and defending. The defending team enters the field with nine players. The attacking from the outset, has only one, the batter. All players of the team act as scouts, one at a time, in a sequence established by the coach before the start of the match – or beat the order of line up.

- The match is played in nine innings (innings). An entry consists of a round of an attack and defense for every team. Visitors have the right to start the attack. Change happens when the defending team can eliminate three opponents attackers (scouts and / or corridors).

Explanation of the baseball diamond.

- There are no draws. If at the end of nine innings the game is tied, extra entries will be added to the playoff.

- If the batter can not complete the four bases in the same play, it stops and that it has reached a new batter enters the game. The batter is now called the previous corridor and continues to attempt to complete the foundation.

- A team can write a race when a runner can cover the diamond formed by four bases. The race to get the basics right when the striker returns the ball thrown by pitcher (pitcher) in the play area. The batter runs to a defense that can return the ball to one of his companions who are positioned at the grassroots.

- It also notes a run when the batter hits the ball so valid, out of the playing field (home run). If there are runners on base, they also note.

- A batter is out when the pitcher throws three balls correctly and he does not get hit. Strike is called as a release that the batter reaches the space between the elbow and the armpit, with a width of 48.18 cm (corresponding to the home plate), thus forming an imaginary rectangle called the strike zone. Four balls outside the zone, or a ball that hits the batter, the batter automatically put at first base – base on balls, also called a walk.

- The batter is also eliminated when: one of the defenders take the ball hit before it hits the ground, when the defenders can get on base at odds with the ball before the attacker, or when a defender touches the attacker with the ball before it reaches a bottom.

- A runner on the bases is eliminated when a ball hit strikes, when leaving their base, the ball hit is caught before falling to the ground (fly out or line out), and the defenders can get to the same base with the ball before it running back.

- Home run is the name of the play in which the batter hits the ball out of bounds and can complete the four bases in the same play.

- Game is called when the game ends if the difference is in the fifth race of fifteen or ten entry points in the seventh entry..
